Ugandan military officer and First Son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba
Ugandan military officer and First Son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has apologized to the public after giving wrong information about a planned military action in Kisangani, a city in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
On his X account (formerly Twitter), Muhoozi said, “Sorry… wrong information! The radio message wasn’t clear. We have permission to capture Kisangani!”
This came just hours after he had tweeted something completely different, claiming that the operation was canceled because of instructions from Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and former U.S. President Donald Trump.
He had earlier posted, “Under the orders of my great father President @KagutaMuseveni and my hero President @realDonaldTrump...I have decided to suspend our operation to capture Kisangani. It is extremely painful for me. I have never failed to achieve a military objective in my life.”

The two posts caused a lot of confusion on social media. People questioned why Donald Trump would be involved in military matters in Africa.
So far, the Ugandan government has not released any official statement to clear up the situation. Muhoozi’s reference to Kisangani has also drawn attention because of the city’s important role during earlier Uganda-DRC conflicts.
