Nation Media Group (NMG) Uganda has picked well-known media personality Flavia Tumusiime as the new Head of Broadcast. In this role, she will lead the company’s top TV and radio stations—NTV Uganda, Spark TV, Dembe FM, and KFM.

Flavia is returning to mainstream media after stepping away for a while to focus on personal matters. Her new job comes as NMG makes changes in its leadership. The company recently removed the General Manager TV role, which was last held by Johnson Omollo. In its place, they created the Head of Broadcast position, now taken by Flavia.

This isn’t her first time with Nation Media Group. She once worked at NTV Uganda as a news anchor and was already known for her strong presence in the media. Before that, she built her radio career at Capital FM and even hosted the popular show "Desert Island Discs" on Capital 91.3 FM.

Flavia began her media journey when she was just 14 years old. She was the host of a teen show called Teen’s Club on WBS TV. At 18, she started her radio career with Hot100FM, and later moved to Capital FM in 2006. She also had a four-year run with Channel O, growing her influence across Africa.

The 36-year-old joins NMG during a time when the company is trying to rebuild and strengthen its broadcast brands. Recently, Dembe FM faced a temporary shutdown, and some key presenters left the company. Flavia’s return is expected to help the group bring back energy and stability to its media platforms.

Flavia now steps into the shoes of past leaders like Agnes Konde, who was Head of Broadcast from 2013 to 2017.
