Victor Boniface scored the decisive goal as Bayer Leverkusen secured a 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in their Bundesliga match at the BayArena on Saturday.
Xabi Alonso’s side ended a three-game winless streak in the league with the hard-fought win.
Boniface redeemed himself by scoring 18 minutes from time, after missing a penalty earlier in the ninth minute. The 23-year-old forward has now scored five goals in seven league appearances this season.
Boniface was substituted for Patrick Schick with 10 minutes remaining, while Nathan Tella came on for Jeremie Frimpong in the 80th minute.
