Ugandan army general Muhoozi Kainerugaba is once again in the news for something very unusual. This time, his comments have not only shocked people in Uganda but also caught the attention of the international community.
On his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Muhoozi said:
"After capturing Kisangani, I will go and rescue Beyoncé from her husband. She is mine!"
This message quickly went viral. Many people were left wondering what he really meant. Some thought he was joking, while others found the comment very inappropriate, especially coming from someone with such a powerful position in the military.
"Is he serious? A whole general talking about Beyoncé like this?" one person wrote on social media.
Another user said, "Muhoozi always says these things to get attention. I don’t think he’s serious."
Still, others were more worried than amused. They believe a high-ranking officer should not be making such personal and strange statements—especially involving celebrities from another country.
Despite all the noise online, neither Beyoncé nor her husband Jay-Z has replied. The couple usually stays away from public drama, so it is not clear if they will respond at all.
But the story doesn’t stop there.
Alongside his bizarre message about Beyoncé, Muhoozi also made a strong military claim. He posted:
"In one week either M23 or UPDF will be in Kisangani. By order of Yoweri Museveni, Commander-in-Chief of UPDF!"
This caused even more confusion. People started asking: Is Uganda really planning to enter Kisangani, a key city in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)? Or is this just another one of Muhoozi’s dramatic online statements?
Kisangani is a very important city in northeastern DRC. It lies along the Congo River and has been involved in past wars—especially between Ugandan and Rwandan forces during the Second Congo War (1998–2003). Whoever controls the city can control trade and movement in the area.
The mention of Kisangani also brought up fears about a return to conflict in the region. The M23 rebel group is active in eastern Congo and has caused many problems. There are also accusations that Rwanda supports them, although Rwanda denies this.
Now, people are wondering if Uganda is planning to help M23 take Kisangani—or if Uganda will send in its own soldiers if M23 fails.
This isn’t the first time Muhoozi has caused problems with his online posts. Back in 2022, he tweeted about invading Kenya, which led to diplomatic tensions. His latest comments are now creating more questions about Uganda’s military intentions and its role in Congo.
Even though Muhoozi claims his plans are ordered by President Yoweri Museveni, there is no official proof that Uganda is really preparing to capture Kisangani.
"We are ready to take Kisangani if needed. After that, I will personally go to bring Beyoncé to Uganda," he added.
Some people online are joking about it, while others are deeply concerned. Critics say that instead of making these kinds of comments, Muhoozi should focus on peace and stability in the region.
For now, his strange mix of military talk and celebrity drama has created a big buzz on social media—but also raised serious diplomatic and political questions.
