Sead Ramovic: The Big Money Behind His Quick Exit from Yanga
Sead Ramovic leaves Yanga just 81 days after joining, drawn by a high-paying offer from Algeria’s CR Belouizdad.
German coach Sead Ramovic has left Tanzanian club Yanga after just 81 days. He received a much better offer from Algerian club CR Belouizdad, almost tripling his salary.
Ramovic, who joined Yanga in November 2024, shocked fans, players, and the club when he suddenly resigned on Tuesday. Reports say Belouizdad offered him a monthly salary of $40,000 (Ksh5,166,800), which is nearly three times the $15,000 (Ksh1,937,550) he was getting at Yanga.
He had signed a one-year contract to replace Argentine coach Miguel Gamondi, who was fired due to poor performance. Despite his short time at Yanga, Ramovic had already influenced the team with an attacking style of play. When he left, Yanga was second in the league with 42 points from 16 matches, just one point behind rivals Simba.
Before joining Yanga, Ramovic coached TS Galaxy in South Africa for three years and made a strong impression.
