Davido discusses the global rise of African culture, noting increased respect for Afrobeats, fashion, and cuisine in the Western world.

Nigerian artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently spoke on the positive impact of Africa’s cultural growth on the continent’s image abroad.

In an interview with Kiss Fresh UK, Davido credited the global success of Afrobeats, African cuisine, and other cultural elements for earning respect for Africans in the West.

“This summer, I was in Europe a lot, and I saw that things have changed,”

he said.

“Two years ago, they were playing Afrobeats for a full hour. Now, even American artists want to do Afrobeats instead of their usual sound".

“The perception of Africans has shifted, and there’s more respect now—not just in music, but in fashion and food as well,”

Davido added.
