Manchester United is reportedly planning to bring back their former academy graduate Angel Gomes next summer. According to The Sun, new manager Ruben Amorim is a strong admirer of the 24-year-old midfielder.

Gomes made his debut for United in May 2017 at 16 years and 263 days, becoming the club’s fourth-youngest player. However, he struggled for regular game time, making only 10 appearances in all competitions before leaving the club in 2020.

After signing a five-year deal with Lille, Gomes has developed into a key player and recently broke into the England national team. His contract with the French side expires at the end of the season, and no extension has been agreed upon.

United is reportedly preparing to make a move for Gomes on a free transfer, viewing him as a key target to strengthen the squad next summer.
