Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has reportedly set their sights on Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman as they seek a left-wing forward to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappe's departure to Real Madrid. Mbappe’s exit, after seven successful years in the French capital, has left PSG searching the market for a suitable replacement throughout the summer.

PSG had initially been linked with Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams. Both players were regarded as ideal candidates to take over from Mbappe, especially after Williams' remarkable performance that helped Spain clinch the Euro 2024 title. However, Napoli and Bilbao have made it clear that neither Kvaratskhelia nor Williams are available for transfer.

With these options off the table, PSG has now turned their attention to Ademola Lookman, who has impressed in both Serie A and the Europa League with his standout performances for Atalanta. According to Viola News, PSG has already made contact with Lookman’s representatives, and the Super Eagles forward has reportedly expressed interest in joining the Ligue 1 champions.

Lookman’s stock in Europe has risen significantly after his stellar hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, leading Atalanta to their first-ever continental title. The 25-year-old former Everton and RB Leipzig winger also shone for Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles reached the final earlier this year.

However, Lookman had a challenging outing in Atalanta's recent UEFA Super Cup clash against Real Madrid, where the Italian side fell short. Despite this, his overall performances have caught the eye of PSG, who are keen to bolster their attacking options.

With Lookman eager to take on a new challenge, PSG’s pursuit of the Nigerian star could provide the Parisians with the attacking flair needed to replace Mbappe. As talks progress, all eyes are on whether PSG can secure the Atalanta winger before the transfer window closes.
