The European football stage erupted with electrifying matches today as Bayern Munich and Manchester United delivered standout performances in their respective competitions. Bayern’s astonishing 9-2 Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb was the day’s biggest headline, while Manchester United dismantled Barnsley 7-0 in the EFL Cup.


Champions League: Bayern Munich Crush Dinamo Zagreb

Bayern Munich delivered a masterclass in their opening Champions League group stage match, obliterating Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 at the Allianz Arena. Harry Kane stole the show with a four-goal performance, cementing his status as one of Europe's most feared strikers. Bayern's attacking firepower was relentless, with further goals from Raphael Guerreiro and Leroy Sané contributing to the rout. EFL Cup: Manchester United Run Riot Against Barnsley

Over in England, Manchester United put on a goal-scoring clinic in the EFL Cup, defeating Barnsley 7-0 in a completely one-sided affair at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag’s men showed no mercy, with a mix of youth and experience dismantling the League One side. This result comes as a morale-boosting win for United, who are keen to regain domestic silverware following a rocky start to their Premier League campaign​.


Brentford also advanced in the EFL Cup with a 3-1 win over Leyton Orient, while Crystal Palace edged past QPR 2-1. The clash between Fulham and Preston North End went to penalties after a 1-1 draw, with Fulham emerging victorious, while Southampton knocked out Everton in another tense shootout​.
