Currently behind Christian Pulisic in the squad hierarchy, Chukwueze may get the nod to start at San Siro, as coach Rafael Fonseca could opt to rest Pulisic following his international duties with the United States. This provides a significant opportunity for the former Villarreal star to showcase his talent in front of Milan's home crowd.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chukwueze is in contention for a starting role, marking a potential breakthrough for the Nigerian in the highly competitive Milan lineup. Luca Diddi, in an interview with MilanNewsit, highlighted the winger’s determination, noting that Chukwueze, alongside Saelemaekers, had been eager for redemption after a promising preseason.

Chukwueze recently featured in Nigeria's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali, where he was substituted at half-time by coach Augustine Eguavoen. The winger is set to return to Milan today, ready to prepare for the crucial Serie A fixture.
