Chelsea has reportedly resumed negotiations to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli, as interest in the Super Eagles star intensifies. The Premier League club is eager to bolster their attacking options before the summer transfer window closes, with Osimhen emerging as a top target.
According to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, Chelsea's pursuit of Osimhen comes amid strong competition from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli. The Saudi side is reportedly close to agreeing on a €65 million deal with Napoli, though the Nigerian forward has yet to be convinced of a move to the Middle East.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano adds that Al-Ahli and Napoli are nearing an agreement, but Osimhen’s agent has dismissed reports linking the 25-year-old with a transfer to Saudi Arabia. This development leaves Chelsea as a strong contender for his signature in the final days of the transfer window.

Victor Osimhen has solidified his reputation as one of the world’s top strikers since joining Napoli from LOSC Lille in 2020. The Nigerian international has netted 76 goals and provided 18 assists in 133 appearances for the Serie A champions, making him one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe.
With Chelsea in need of a prolific striker to complement their attacking lineup, the club sees Osimhen as a viable solution. Despite the Blues' interest, negotiations over a potential deal have hit roadblocks regarding the structure of the transfer. Nevertheless, Chelsea's desire to sign a top striker remains strong as they prepare for the final push in the summer window.
As the transfer saga unfolds, Chelsea and Al-Ahli continue to battle for Osimhen’s services, though the Nigerian forward currently leans towards remaining in Europe. The outcome could significantly impact both clubs' ambitions this season.
