CAF Decision on Libya-Nigeria AFCON Qualifier Due Wednesday
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is expected to deliver a verdict on Wednesday concerning the disrupted Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Libya and Nigeria, originally scheduled for October 15 at Benina Martyrs Stadium.
Documentation has been provided by the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) regarding the first leg in Nigeria, which Nigeria won 1-0, and the aborted second leg.
The Nigerian team faced logistical challenges, being diverted to Al Abraq Airport, three hours from Benghazi, and were detained for 17 hours without essentials before returning home.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has lodged a complaint with CAF. The LFF contends that the Nigerian delegation did not cooperate during the matches.
