The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed German tactician Bruno Labbadia as the new head coach of the Nigerian men's national team, the Super Eagles.

This appointment, announced by the NFF early Tuesday morning, concludes months of searching for a new leader to guide the former African champions. Labbadia, known for his vast coaching experience in Germany, has agreed to assume the role with immediate effect.

In an official statement, the NFF confirmed:

“The Nigeria Football Federation has reached an agreement with German tactician Bruno Labbadia to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s Senior Men National Team, the Super Eagles.”

NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi further elaborated on the decision, saying,

“The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to appoint Mr. Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles. The appointment is effective immediately.”

The Super Eagles had been without a permanent coach since former Ajax winger Finidi George’s departure after a short tenure. Labbadia’s arrival is expected to bring stability and renewed focus to the national team.
