Henry Okello, the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda, has confirmed that the U.S. government and some Western countries have issued mythical warnings. Since last year, they have also warned the UPDF that labels certain areas in the countryside as harboring terrorist activities, where some people have died.

The State Minister stated that Western governments primarily sponsor these labels to threaten African presidents. Meanwhile, Uganda's President, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has imposed heavy sanctions on the LGBTQ community, leading to widespread criticism. Many major countries, institutions, NGOs, and others around the world have condemned the Ugandan government and President Museveni.

In addition to these criticisms, comments on social media and Western media outlets have not praised Museveni's government for its decision.

The State Minister concluded by saying that Uganda has a strong intelligence bureau, fully equipped with information that could prevent potential terrorist attempts by revealing them before they can take place

Eritrean authorities, known for their secrecy, informed Berhane’s family of his death but have not yet released his body. Reports suggest plans to bury him in Asmara Patriots Cemetery, reserved for veterans of Eritrea's independence war.
