The Ministry of Land and Housing has announced the sale of 4,888 affordable housing units under the Social Housing and Affordable Housing Programs. These homes include studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units in various counties across Kenya.
The Social Housing Program targets people earning below Sh20,000 monthly, with prices starting at Sh640,000 for a studio apartment. Monthly payments range from Sh3,900 for a studio to Sh6,800 for a two-bedroom unit.
For middle-income earners, units are available under the Affordable Housing Program, with higher prices and larger homes. Registration is open to all Kenyans under the “One ID, One Housing Unit” policy.
To register, visit Boma Yangu online or use the *832# USSD code. The government also provides deposit assistance for qualified buyers.
“These persons are also eligible for deposit assistance,” the ministry said.

Buyers can save for deposits, track their payments, and apply for loans through partner banks and Saccos. Successful applicants will be allocated homes, with options for monthly or lump-sum payments.
The government aims to make homeownership more accessible and reduce informal settlements through these initiatives.
