Mikel Oyarzabal and Ghanaian Nico Williams celebrate Spain's victory in the Euro 2024 final, clinching their record fourth title.

Berlin, Germany - Spain secured their fourth European Championship title on Sunday with a dramatic 2-1 victory over England, thanks to Mikel Oyarzabal's 86th-minute winner.

This triumph marks Spain's first international trophy since Euro 2012, reinforcing their resurgence in global football.

Despite losing key midfielder Rodri to injury at half-time, Spain took the lead shortly after the break with Nico Williams' goal, assisted by Lamine Yamal. England's Cole Palmer equalized in the 73rd minute, but Oyarzabal sealed the win with a late goal, ensuring Spain's dominance in the tournament.

This victory adds to Spain's previous Euro titles from 1964, 2008, and 2012. The team, led by the young star Yamal, showcased their talent and determination, dominating the match and overcoming a resilient England side.

England, aiming for their first men's international title since the 1966 World Cup, fell short in their second consecutive Euro final. Captain Harry Kane, still seeking his first career trophy at 30, led a team that showed promise but ultimately could not match Spain's prowess.

Spain's tactical control was evident from the start, but it was a closely contested match until the final moments. Rodri's injury seemed a potential setback, yet Spain's depth and skill shone through, particularly with Williams' and Oyarzabal's crucial goals.

The win underscores Spain's revival and solidifies their place among the elite in international football.
