Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Visits Startup Ethiopia Exhibition in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed toured the Startup Ethiopia Exhibition at the Science Museum in Addis Ababa, spotlighting the country's burgeoning innovation ecosystem.
The exhibition, open through the end of the month, features pioneering work from sectors like IT, agriculture, health, education, industry, and finance.
During his visit, Prime Minister Abiy commended the creativity and ambition of the entrepreneurs and encouraged public engagement with the innovators. "This exhibition is a showcase of our future," he remarked, urging visitors to explore and interact with the exhibitors.
Notable startups at the event include Cubic Startup, led by Edom Dawit, which recycles plastic waste into low-cost building materials, and Ethio-Charge, spearheaded by Abdu Jemal, focusing on establishing electric vehicle charging stations across Ethiopia.
Both representatives highlighted the government's supportive role in fostering a conducive environment for startups.
Yidnelkachew Kedir, CEO of Enabler, emphasized the exhibition's role in facilitating interactions and creating potential business partnerships among startups and established companies.
The Startup Ethiopia Exhibition is a key platform for showcasing local innovation and fostering economic growth, aligning with Ethiopia's strategic focus on supporting entrepreneurial ventures and sustainable development.
