President Kagame's administration is showing signs of desperation and fear in the face of FARDC's strengthened aerial capabilities.


In a surprising turn of events, the Chief of Defence Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force, Gen MK Mubarakh Muganga, has embarked on a critical mission to Bangladesh, seeking to bolster Rwanda's military capabilities amidst a backdrop of escalating tensions in the region. This unexpected visit, occurring from June 12th to 15th, 2024, underscores Rwanda's growing concerns over its military readiness, The DRC's Armed Forces (FARDC) have reportedly bolstered their air capabilities with Sukhoi-25 fighter jets and CH-4 strike drones, raising concerns in Kigali about a potential offensive.


The trip to Bangladesh is seen by some as an attempt to counterbalance this threat. The timing of General Muganga’s visit suggests a reaction to these growing external threats, highlighting the precarious security situation Rwanda faces​.
