City might have begun to fear that their Tottenham curse was striking again when Kevin De Bruyne's rasping shot was superbly saved by Vicario just after the interval but they could finally breathe a sigh of relief soon afterwards.

Still City looked edgy and Ortega had to save a close-range effort by Dejan Kulusevski with his legs but his best moment came later as a mistake let in Son Heung-min. As the South Korean bore down on goal, Arsenal's title hopes looked about to be resurrected but Ortega made the save and Guardiola fell to the ground in relief.
Erling Haaland's double secured Manchester City a 2-0 victory

Erling Haaland's double secured Manchester City a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, bringing them within reach of a fourth consecutive Premier League title. Haaland scored early in the second half and sealed the win with a stoppage-time penalty, marking his 27th league goal of the season.

Despite a lackluster first-half performance and key saves by substitute keeper Stefan Ortega, City ended their winless streak at Tottenham's new stadium.

With 88 points, they lead Arsenal by two points and can clinch the title by defeating West Ham United on Sunday. Pep Guardiola praised Ortega's crucial saves, which kept City's destiny in their own hands.

Tottenham's defeat dashed their hopes of a top-four finish, while City, unbeaten in 22 league games, remain poised to make history with another title.
