Pedestrians wade through a flooded street following heavy rains in kenya

Kenya is facing a serious crisis as heavy rains continue to pound various parts of the country, putting lives in danger. Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has issued a strong warning, urging residents in flood-prone areas to leave immediately before disaster strikes.

"The heightened risk of flooding in multiple counties due to heavy rainfall calls for increased safety measures and preparedness," the government warns.

The situation is getting worse by the hour. People living near rivers, lakes, and other water bodies are at great risk as water levels keep rising. Landslides are also a major threat, especially for those on steep slopes.

DANGER IN BUILDINGS

The Ministry of Interior is also warning residents to stay away from unfinished buildings as they could collapse under the force of the heavy rains Kenya is experiencing. Crowded areas with poorly built structures are especially dangerous.

TRANSPORT & SECURITY MEASURES To protect citizens, the government has increased security at bus stations and other key locations to ensure people, especially schoolchildren, can travel safely.

"Security measures are in place at all bus termini and other strategic locations to ensure the movement of vehicles and people traveling, more so schoolchildren," the ministry stated.
