President William Ruto has asked the Inspector General of Police and the National Police Service (NPS) to address Kenyans' concerns about recent abductions, including the case of six missing youths. He emphasized that the police operate independently and are responsible for investigations.

Ruto stated that the government focuses on policy-making and does not interfere in police matters. He also insisted that the law must be applied fairly and urged young people to act responsibly on social media.

During a burial attended by Ruto, leaders exchanged sharp remarks about the abductions. Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya criticized the government, calling it "unfortunate" to deny the abductions, while Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah reminded him of his past role as a Regional Commissioner during similar incidents.

A rivalry between Speaker Moses Wetangula and Natembeya also surfaced, with Ruto subtly criticizing those he accused of dividing the people.

Meanwhile, questions about the missing individuals remain unanswered, and calls for their release have yet to yield any action from state agencies.
