Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has clarified that his recent absence from public events is due to a short holiday, dismissing rumors of a disagreement with President William Ruto.

Kindiki missed several high-profile events, including President Ruto's New Year’s Eve address, the Piny Luo Cultural Festival, and meetings with Ghana's President-elect John Dramani Mahama and African Union leader Moussa Faki. He also skipped the burial of Speaker Moses Wetangula’s mother, fueling speculation about a possible rift.

Kindiki made his first public appearance this year at a wedding in Tigoni, Kiambu County, explaining he had taken time off during the festive season to rest. He urged people not to focus on minor issues, stating, "I am enjoying the remaining hours of my holiday."

He thanked President Ruto for approving his leave and expressed optimism about the future, reaffirming his support for the President and commitment to helping lead Kenya forward.
