Apple recently launched the iOS 18 update for iPhones, but work has already started on the next big update: iOS 19. Scheduled for release in June 2025, this update promises significant improvements and exciting new features, including a major upgrade to Siri.
What’s New in iOS 19?
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, iOS 19 will introduce a more advanced version of Siri. This new Siri will use Large Language Models (LLMs), making it smarter and more conversational. The upgrade aims to make Siri capable of handling complex tasks, similar to popular AI tools like ChatGPT. While the official debut is expected during Apple’s WWDC event in June 2025, the final rollout might not happen until spring 2026.
Delays and Postponed Features
Some features planned for iOS 19 are already delayed. Gurman mentioned that Apple has pushed several updates to iOS 19.4, which is expected in spring 2026. Details about these delayed features remain unclear, but Apple often rolls out major updates in stages, as seen with iOS 18.
iOS 18: A Look Back
Apple also delayed key features with the iOS 18 update. Some advanced tools, such as AI-powered Genmoji, Image Playground, and ChatGPT integration, are set to arrive in iOS 18.2, expected by mid-December 2024. These incremental updates show Apple’s strategy of gradually refining and releasing features.
What to Expect?
With iOS 19, Apple seems focused on AI advancements and improving the overall iPhone experience. As new details emerge, users can look forward to innovations that enhance functionality and take Siri to the next level.
