The Hadza People

The Hadza, or Hadzabe, are an indigenous ethnic group residing around Tanzania's Lake Eyasi basin. As one of the last hunter-gatherer societies, their lifestyle has remained relatively unchanged for thousands of years. Speaking the isolate language Hadzane, they possess a rich oral history. Despite modern encroachments and efforts to settle them into agricultural lifestyles, many Hadza maintain their traditional practices. However, tourism and land encroachment increasingly threaten their way of life
