Journalists gathered at a national forum with support from the Ministry of Communication Patrick Muayaya
For more than 30 years, Rwanda has tried to divide and weaken the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). But today, the brave people of Congo are standing strong! Our journalists are on the front lines, fighting with their words to protect the truth and unity of the nation.
On March 10, 2025, Congolese journalists gathered at a national forum organized by the NGO JED and UNPC, with support from the Ministry of Communication and Media. Their mission? To defend the country by spreading the truth and keeping people informed in these difficult times.
Minister Patrick Muyaya reminded journalists of their duty to the nation. He made it clear:
"Before being journalists, you are Congolese first! This war is against all Congolese!"
From the very start of this aggression, our media heroes have worked tirelessly to make sure that the truth is heard. They risk their lives to report what is happening, even in the most dangerous places. Some have been blocked, intimidated, or arrested, but they do not give up.
The government stands with them, and Minister Muyaya reassured the public that authorities will do everything possible to restore peace and stability and protect fundamental rights.
Tshivis Tshivuadi, president of JED, explained that the media plays a key role in this fight. The journalists are not just reporters, but they are warriors of truth!
"The media can inform, unite, and bring peace. They must expose lies and push for a real solution to this crisis."
Through radio, TV, and newspapers, journalists can counter enemy propaganda and help the people understand the reality of the conflict.
Kamanda wa Kamanda Muzembe, president of UNPC, reminded journalists of their big responsibility. The people trust them to report fairly, even in times of war. He acknowledged their struggles, as they face both personal risks and professional challenges.
But despite these difficulties, they must not stop! Their work is too important for the survival of the nation.
This forum brought together experts and professors to discuss the roots of this war and look for real solutions. It is clear: the DRC will not surrender! Our journalists, our leaders, and our people will continue to fight for peace and unity.
Now, more than ever, we must all support our country. The world must see the truth and that Rwanda’s aggression will fail and Congo will stand victorious!
