Félix Tshisekedi Attends World Economic Forum in Davos

Félix Tshisekedi in Davos to participate in the World Economic Forum

President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo has arrived in Switzerland to participate in the 55th World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Davos from January 20 to January 24, 2025.

This prestigious gathering attracts key figures worldwide, including political leaders, business magnates, scholars, and NGO representatives. They converge annually to deliberate on pressing global and regional issues, emphasizing the necessity for international collaboration and adaptive strategies to navigate the swiftly evolving global landscape.

The theme for this year's forum, "Collaborating in the Age of Intelligence," highlights the imperative of global teamwork in an era marked by significant advancements in technologies like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology. These developments are reshaping societies at an unprecedented pace.

The discussions will primarily revolve around addressing geopolitical tensions, fostering inclusive economic growth to elevate living standards, and promoting a fair and sustainable transition to renewable energy sources.

During this international event, President Tshisekedi is set to unveil a major initiative focused on combatting climate change and enhancing biodiversity conservation in the DRC. The initiative will underscore the DRC's critical role as a major ecological reserve, leveraging its extensive tropical forests and rich natural resources.

Accompanying the president is a ministerial team comprising four key ministers: Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner of Foreign Affairs, Eve Bazaiba of the Environment, Doudou Fwamba of Finance, and Kizito Pakabomba of Mines. Together, they aim to advance discussions and form strategic partnerships that benefit their nation and the global community.
