The Hadza People

The Hadza, or Hadzabe, are an indigenous ethnic group residing around Tanzania's Lake Eyasi basin. As one of the last hunter-gatherer societies, their lifestyle has remained relatively unchanged for thousands of years. Speaking the isolate language Hadzane, they possess a rich oral history. Despite modern encroachments and efforts to settle them into agricultural lifestyles, many Hadza maintain their traditional practices.
