In Gitega, a warm gathering took place where the youth wing of Burundi's leading political party, the CNDD-FDD, known as Imbonerakure students, came together. This event, held on Sunday, served as a welcoming ceremony for new members and a platform to exchange festive greetings among members from Gitega and those studying in Bujumbura, the country’s economic capital.

During this vibrant event, significant party figures attended, including Mr. Nyandwi Emery Landry, the National Secretary in charge of Ideology, Recruitment, and Diaspora. Leaders from Gitega's CNDD-FDD office and local zonal secretaries were also present, enhancing the gathering's prominence.

Mr. Nyandwi delivered an inspiring speech, outlining six key principles of a patriotic citizen which include national pride, participation in official ceremonies, civic engagement, the determination to defend the nation, the preservation of Burundian culture, and constructive criticism for the betterment of the nation.

Furthermore, he highlighted twelve reasons to love Burundi, emphasizing its unique unity, efficient territorial administration, and the significant role of Imana (God) in the country's history before colonial times.

Reflecting on Burundi's illustrious past, Mr. Nyandwi reminisced about the country's historical military strength, symbolized by the Bami Abarenge, renowned leaders from Mubuga in Gitega. These leaders, predating Ntare Rushatsi, showcased their dominance through expertise in ironwork and their ancestors' skills in handling spears and bows.
